WWD & CFDA FÊTE LAINDUSTRY LEADERS AND DESIGNERS

CFDA - What happens when WWD Editorial Director Jim Fallon, Fairchild Media President Amanda Smith and CFDA CEO Steven Kolb descend upon the Sunset Tower to co-host West Coast’s top designers and industry leaders? Pure fashion magic, LA Style.

That was the vibe at the iconic West Hollywood hotel last Thursday. Everyone worth his, her or their salt came out for the occasion, including Aurora James and Ben Bronfman, Zoe Latta and Jacob Bixenman, Rio Uribe, Jasmin Shokrian, Monique Lhuillier and Tom Bugbee, Sergio Hudson and Davon Kennard Jenkins, Jasmin Larian Hekmat and Ryan Hekmat, and Celine Khavarani.

“We’re thrilled to be here and see all of you,” Fallon told the guests.

Kolb added, “WWD is such a voice of our industry. I can remember the first time I had my picture in Women’s Wear, when I got hired. I was so excited…my sister actually framed the article. I still get excited when I see the CFDA coverage in WWD. I think we all do!”

Indeed, the designers in the chic room couldn’t agree more with the sentiment, and they appreciated how the evening brought together everyone from Adam and Ryan Goldston to Autumn Adeigbo, Nick Fouquet, Sami Miro, George Esquivel, Kevan Hall, Rebecca Henry and Rebecca Henry and Akua Shabaka.

“It’s nice to build a community,” Zaid Affas said. “LA is becoming more of a fashion player than it used to be 20 or even 10 years ago.”

Andrea Lieberman summed up the evening’s energy perfectly: “It was a night of old friends, and reconnections. Especially after the crazy few years, it’s lovely and nice to be together to celebrate each other.”

And who can ask for more than that?
