How Evan Hirsch transformed everyday thrift finds into couture-level storytelling at his ShopGoodwill.com Fall 2026 presentation.

I recently had the chance to attend the Evan Hirsch ShopGoodwill Fall 2026 presentation, and honestly, it felt like stepping into a world where thrifting meets couture. If you’ve ever loved the thrill of finding a hidden gem at a thrift store, this collection was that feeling—just turned all the way up to high fashion.

Evan Hirsch made it clear from the start: this collection is about thrifting to the max. Not casual thrifting. Not minimal thrifting. We’re talking dramatic, theatrical, storytelling-through-fashion thrifting.

Instead of designing from brand-new fabrics, he built each look from items sourced through ShopGoodwill.com—proving that style has nothing to do with price tags and everything to do with creativity.

And what I loved most? Each piece started with a category you’d normally scroll past online—like vintage toys, jewelry lots, Legos, or secondhand art—and then got reimagined into runway-worthy fashion.

The Concept: “The Category Is…”

The whole theme revolved around transformation. Hirsch basically took the digital treasure hunt of online thrifting and brought it into the world of couture.

He previously created 29 looks from thrifted garments for his “Found Opulence” collection, but this time he edited it down to five high-impact pieces. Each one told a story and represented a different resale category.

It felt less like a fashion show and more like an art exhibition where clothes just happened to be the canvas.

Look 1: Vintage Toys, But Make It Fashion

Inspired by carousel horses and circus imagery, this look leaned into whimsy and nostalgia. Think bows, crystals, and dramatic structure.

The base was an upcycled Calvin Klein dress, but Hirsch added a detachable cage crinoline and oversized bows to give it that playful, storybook feel. It was giving fantasy, childhood memories, and couture all at once.

Look 2: Jewelry Reborn as a Gown

This one was wild in the best way. The gown featured hundreds of repurposed jewelry pieces hand-placed across the bodice and bolero.

The skirt came from vintage lace and even an old wedding dress. It took over a week to make, and you could tell. Every inch sparkled with history.

It was like wearing a treasure chest—but elegant.

Look 3: Lego Geometry Meets Menswear

Yes, Legos. And yes, it worked.

Built on a Joseph Abboud suit, this look used square beads to mimic Lego bricks, creating a colorful 3D tapestry effect. Then Hirsch added a patchwork cape from recycled tablecloths and a matching top hat.

It was playful, architectural, and surprisingly chic.

Look 4: Weird, Wacky & Wild

This look celebrated those random thrift finds you never know what to do with.

A stretch jersey gown was combined with a textured 3D pink tablecloth skirt, topped with a rhinestone-embellished jacket featuring oversized sculptural shoulders and cone-shaped sleeves.

It was bold. It was avant-garde. It was a reminder that “weird” can be runway-worthy.

Look 5: Art as Fashion

This one was emotional.

The gown was hand-painted on silk and created in collaboration with children from an art program in Queens. Each student painted a yard of silk, and their work became part of the dress.

It wasn’t just fashion—it was community, storytelling, and opportunity stitched together.

Why This Collection Matters

The Evan Hirsch ShopGoodwill Fall 2026 presentation wasn’t just about clothes. It was about:

  • Sustainability

  • Second chances for materials

  • Creativity over cost

  • Finding beauty in the overlooked

In a fashion world obsessed with “new,” Hirsch is showing that old can be even more exciting.

And honestly? It makes you want to look at your next thrift find differently.

Because maybe that random item isn’t junk—it’s just waiting for a designer’s eye.
