Let’s talk about how Miley Cyrus is about to rock our worlds again with her upcoming visual album, Something Beautiful. The album drops on May 30, and from the sound (and look) of it, this is gonna be more than just a music moment — it’s straight-up fashion history in motion.

Miley isn’t new to turning heads with her style, but this time? She's pulling all the stops — mixing vintage couture, cinematic vibes, and custom designer pieces into a full-blown fashion fantasy. Here's everything you need to know.

A Visual Album That’s Serving Looks AND Feels

Something Beautiful will include 13 new tracks, and the visuals? Directed by Miley herself, along with Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter, plus cinematography by Benoît Debie (who’s worked on dreamy films like Spring Breakers). The whole thing is being described as cinematic, nostalgic, and visually rich — and the fashion plays a major role in setting the tone.

It’s Giving “Museum Exhibit But Make It Pop Star”

Miley teamed up with her longtime stylist Bradley Kenneth, and together they curated looks that blend old-school drama with modern-day attitude. The vibe? Timeless glam meets futuristic rock goddess. We’re talking archival fashion legends like:

  • Thierry Mugler (yes, including the iconic “Spider” bodysuit from 1997)

  • Jean Paul Gaultier

  • Bob Mackie (the king of glitz and drama)

  • Plus custom designs from Alexander McQueen and Alaïa

The fashion concept started way back while Miley was still recording. Kenneth would hang out in the studio, soaking in the sounds, already dreaming up the visuals. He said the music had a richness that made him want to match it with deep, elevated looks — and that’s exactly what they did.

The Mugler Moment: Spiderweb Realness

Let’s pause and appreciate the Thierry Mugler “Spider” look Miley wears on the album cover. It’s from his Spring 1997 “Les Insects” collection — inspired by morning dew glistening on a spiderweb. It's delicate, strong, a little haunting, and totally mesmerizing. It’s also part of what Kenneth says is the largest Mugler archive collection ever sent to a single person. (Yeah. Miley made history with that one.)

There are also vampy, darkly romantic Mugler pieces from Fall 1998 featured in the film, dripping in drama. It’s very “if Morticia Addams did Vogue Paris.”

High Fashion, But Make It Personal

This wasn’t just playing dress-up. The styling tells a story — one that mirrors Miley’s music, her growth, and her ability to turn vulnerability into power.

Kenneth says seeing Miley bring these vintage pieces to life was the highlight for him. And honestly, that part gave me chills. These aren’t just outfits — they’re wearable legacies, and Miley’s giving them a whole new chapter.

She even wears a custom McQueen dress in a Hollywood-themed scene that nods to Lee McQueen’s original “Savage Beauty” designs. Think torn glamour, raw edge, and all the drama.

What’s Next? More Fashion. More Feels.

Once the album and film drop, Kenneth says we should “expect to be completely gagged.” And honestly? I believe him.

If the visuals are anything like what we’ve seen in the teasers and press — and if she brings this level of fashion to live performances — we’re in for a whole era. Not just an album cycle, but a cultural moment.

Final Thoughts: Miley Isn’t Just Wearing Fashion — She’s Making It

Miley’s always been bold with her style. From her wild-child Bangerz days to her glam rock Plastic Hearts era, she’s never been afraid to experiment. But Something Beautiful feels like the moment where everything comes together: music, fashion, meaning, and legacy.

She’s not just pulling looks. She’s pulling history, wrapping herself in it, and adding her name to the narrative.

Honestly? I’m obsessed. Mark your calendars for May 30. We’re not just getting an album — we’re getting a full-on art experience.
