Six Black women in Houston open up their lives, businesses, and struggles on reality TV—and trust me, you’ll want this show on your watchlist.

Okay y’all, I’ve got a new reality TV obsession—and if you know me, you know that’s saying a lot. OWN just dropped a new series following six incredible Black women in Houston, and the energy is everything. It premiered Saturday, August 2nd, and let’s just say…it’s already on my must-watch list.
I actually got the chance to attend a watch party with co-executive producer Jessica Hubert (yes, I’m fangirling a little). She spilled some behind-the-scenes tea about working with Jesse Collins and what it’s like helping these women share their stories as first-time reality stars. Apparently, Jessica even offered therapeutic sessions to the cast when things got too heavy—and trust me, it gets real.
So, let’s break down this fabulous cast:
Alaina Saulsberry – Spa owner and longtime wife dealing with serious marriage struggles. She’s been with her husband since high school, but now they’re sleeping in separate rooms and haven’t been intimate in two months. She’s super private, so Jessica said she was the toughest to open up on camera.
Chloe Cook – A boss event planner who brings drama wherever she goes. She’s dating a man 17 years younger than her (and only a few years older than her oldest son!), and she isn’t afraid to stir the pot. In fact, she called Alaina’s husband ugly on episode one—so yeah, she came in hot.
La’Torria Lemon – PR entrepreneur turned restaurant owner. She’s got sweet southern charm but also carries insecurities that sometimes slip out in shady comments. Case in point: she offended Muneera recently without even realizing it.
LeBrina Jackson – Beauty entrepreneur with major vibes. Kicked out of her house at 16, she’s built her life back stronger and now runs a spa. Honestly, she feels like the most down-to-earth one, and I could totally see myself being her friend.
Muneera Page – An electrical engineer and content creator who proves that “Black don’t crack.” She’s in her 40s but looks like she’s in her early 20s. The flip side? She hates when people say she looks like a kid, because it makes her feel dismissed. And honestly, I feel that—been there myself.
Roe Pichardo – A nightlife boss with major New York energy. She literally quit her job on episode two, but her boss refused to let her go (classic hustler move). Roe is real, raw, and unapologetic—and I love her for it.
After just a couple episodes, I can already tell this show has the perfect mix of drama, heart, and inspiration. And according to Jessica Hubert, the only way we’ll get a Season 2 is if people keep buzzing about it. So yes, I’m already manifesting Season 2—even though I haven’t finished Season 1 yet.
If you’re into friendship, drama, business moves, and women being real, this Houston reality show is definitely worth your time. Let’s keep the conversation going and give these women the spotlight they deserve!
