Another architecture marvel in the city is a major landmark that dominates the central square: the Cap Haïtien Cathedral, or is a French-style building that featured a silvered dome and two cupolas. The present building dates from 1670, when Haiti was still colonized by France and it was a testimony of their presence in the Caribbean.
